Sleep product sales value in Poland 2002-2024
In the observed period, the value of sleep products sales in Poland increased by 66 percent, amounting to 315.6 million zloty in 2022. In 2024, the value of sleep product sales was forecasted to increase by around nine percent.
Sleep medicine and reasons for its rise
A key contributor to this increase is the price of sleeping products in Poland. Between 2002 and 2024, the price is expected to rise by an average of more than 11 zloty for a single pack of sleep medication, reaching 18.14 zloty in 2024. At the same time, the same trend can be observed worldwide. The high sales of sleeping pills can indicate increased health issues in society. In 2023, every fourth respondent in Poland suffered from insomnia.
Popular products sold in pharmacies
The revenue in the pharmaceuticals market in Poland was forecast to continuously increase between 2024 and 2028 (+25.42 percent), reaching 4.42 billion U.S. dollars in 2028.
Despite increasing sales, specific sleep medications were not the best-selling products in online pharmacies in Poland in 2023. These were vitamins, tonics, and minerals. By comparison, the sales value for antidepressants amounted to over 750 million zloty in 2022, while that of sleeping pills was just over 315 million zloty.
