As of 2020, the organization which contributed the greatest number of scientific publications in Greece were universities, with 85% of all publications. Research centers of the Greek Orthodox Church and Public hospitals contributed 14.1 percent and 12.8 percent respectively, with no other organization contributing more than five percent of publications. The sum of the percentages for these publications comes to greater than 100 percent, as collaborations between authors at different institutions are counted for both organizations.
