As revealed in a survey about film consumption in India, OTT platforms remained the popular choice to consume newly released films among 42 percent of respondents. However, the share of respondents that prefer watching new releases in movie theaters increased from 16 to 23 percent between 2022 and 2023. With the abatement of the COVID-19 pandemic, movie-goers in India are increasingly returning to theaters.
