As indicated in a 2023 survey by Rakuten Insight on user-generated content (UGC), the leading reason for the consumption of UGC in India stated by 49 percent of respondents was that it was more interesting than branded content. Two other popular reasons provided were that it boosted purchasing confidence and helped consumers identify trending products.
