The European Union is called to implement its power grids to support the forecast increase in electricity generation capacity and consumption by heating systems, electric vehicles, industrial activities, and domestic sector, as part of the decarbonization strategy of the EU countries. In 2023, the EU invested approximately 23 billion euros in electricity grids, an amount that differs considerably from the annual investment needs for the electricity infrastructure, which will reach 100 billion euros by 2050.
