In the marketing year 2023/24, coffee consumption in South America increased by about 1.6 percent compared to the previous year. In Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, coffee consumption increased by 2.3 percent. That same year, total coffee consumption in both regions reached over 34 million 60-kg bags.
