In 2024, over 1.4 million metric tons of wine grapes were crushed for wine production across Australia. The volume of white varieties crushed was around 17,000 metric tons greater than red varieties that year. The total amount of wine grapes crushed in Australia in 2024 witnessed a slight increase from the previous year. Nonetheless, this remains one of the lowest wine grape crush volumes over the past decade, following a downward trend between 2021 and 2023 due to challenging growing conditions.
