According to a nationwide survey conducted in Indonesia in 2022, nearly nine percent of respondents living in rural areas have tried to quit smoking with the help of smoking cessation services at municipal health facilities. Indonesia's Ministry of Health provides a toll-free Quit Line Smoking Cessation service to address the country's high smoking rates, ranking third globally, which pose economic and health challenges, especially among youths.
