During 2022, the Indian Ed Tech startup BYJU'S downsized its workforce by 2,500 employees, while the startup Unacademy reduced its staff by 1,500 employees. Furthermore, about four Ed Tech startups in India ceased operations in the same year. Ed-techs have been focusing towards profitability and sustainability which is deemed as the main reason for the restructuring of workforce.
