During the financial year 2021, out of 1.3 billion Indian rupees allocated under the Green India Mission, the Indian states utilized a total of 91 billion rupees. The previous two financial years also reflected a trend of under-utilization of funds under the project. The Green India Mission aims to protect, restore, and expand India's forest cover.
