In Portugal, in 2022, both in number and in value of person-to-person (P2P) transactions, cash was the most used payment method. It prevailed in 68 percent of the number of payments and monopolized 58 percent of their value. Mobile app payments followed, dominating 18 percent of the number of P2P payments while preserving 20 percent of the value of these transactions.
