According to a November 2022 survey, just over a quarter of respondents in Italy intended to purchase a new passenger car in the following twelve months. This was 10 percentage points more than the uused car purchase intentions in Italy for that same period. With 22 percent each, Spain and the United Kingdom ranked second in terms of new car buying intentions across this twelve month period.
Self-reported new car purchase intention in Europe as of November 2022, by selected countries
The numbers represent the share of respondents who answered "Yes" to the question "Are you considering buying any of the following products and services over the next 12 months?" for new cars.
The sample size was of 800 participants in each countries except for France, which had 3,000 participants. The quota method was used for sampling, so the sample is representative (gender, age, region of residence, socio-professional category/income).
