According to a 2023 survey across all 27 European Union member states, respondents in Cyprus and Malta were the most engaged with local news, with over two thirds of people aged 15 years and older saying they accessed local information in the last week. Slovakian respondents were at the other end of the spectrum with only around a third keeping up to date with local happenings.
