The total annual emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the European economy has reduced from around 3.76 billions tonnes per year in 2008, to les than three billion tonnes per year in the 2020s. This stark reduction in GHG emissions has been particularly facilitated by reductions in the areas of electricity, gas, steam, & air conditioning supply, as well as in transportation & storage. On the other hand, manufacturing and agriculture, forestry, & fishing have remained relatively stable in their yearly GHG emissions since 2008.
