As of July 2024, the AMD Instinct MI300X achieved the best average OpenCL performance among graphics processing units (GPUs) with a score of 371,567 from the Geekbench benchmarking tests. Of the ten highest scoring GPU OpenCL performances, Nvidia accounted for nine of them. OpenCL is an open-source programming language for cross-platform parallel programming.
What does Geekbench measure?
Geekbench is a cross-platform benchmark that measures system performance, giving users the ability to compare processors and devices across a range of factors. In addition to GPUs, Geekbench offers comparative data for central processing units (CPUs), Android devices, iOS devices, and Mac devices, as well as machine learning activities.
Geekbench ML for machine learning scoring
The Geekbench ML benchmark platform helps users understand how efficiently devices can run the latest machine learning applications. Geekbench ML runs tests using a device's CPU, GPU, and neural processing unit (NPU). The advantage of NPUs is that they can accelerate the performance of machine learning tasks, providing a significant boost in performance compared to using a CPU alone.
Ranking of leading graphics processing unit (GPU) Geekbench OpenCL score performance worldwide as of July 2024
Geekbench 6 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 2500 (which is the score of an Intel Core i7-12700). Higher scores are better, with double the score indicating double the performance.
