Mobile banking apps were the most popular types of finance apps in Germany in 2023, based on the number of downloads. Throughout the year, such apps were downloaded more than 21 million times. Digital wallet and payments apps followed, with 18.64 million downloads. Germany is home to one of Europe's leading neobanks, N26, which had the highest share of downloads in France, despite being headquartered in Berlin.
