75 years after the atomic attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, roughly a third of respondents in the U.S. believed that the U.S. should apologize for the event, while over two fifths did not. When split by political affiliation, almost half of Democrats believed the U.S. should apologize, while over a quarter did not. For Republicans, the sentiment was reversed and the difference was much stronger - these trends are fairly aligned with respondents' feeling about whether the attacks were right or wrong.
