Construction wages and salaries in Sweden increased by nearly 10.2 percent in 2023. According to the latest figures, the annual labor costs amounted to roughly 58,800 euros per employee in 2020. However, labor costs increased significantly between 2021 and 2023. In 2020, Norway was one of the countries with the highest construction labor costs in Europe.

The personnel costs per employee were directly obtained from Eurostat, while the year-over-year growth rate was calculated using the quarterly cost index figures. That last indicator was calculated averaging the quarterly data and calculating the annual growth rate; those figures were seasonally and calendar adjusted data.
The time series of the cost per employee was broken in 2018, while the figures for the quarterly cost index were an estimate.
