As of mid-April 2022, most of Portuguese survey respondents mentioned that if they had the intention of buying a car, the inflation would make them consider waiting for better economic conditions to make that purchase. In contrast, nine percent of respondents mentioned they would still intend to purchase an internal combustion engine car, compared to eight percent of these respondents saying they would still purchase an electric car.
