Data from a U.S. survey conducted in April 2023 found that only nine percent of adults believed AI-written books would have a mostly positive impact on the book industry. Gen Z and millennials were most likely to be optimistic about the effect of AI-written books, with close to 40 percent saying the impact would be mostly or somewhat positive. The majority of Gen Xers and boomers on the other hand had no opinion on the subject.
