The share of commuters walking or cycling to work remained relatively stable at a low level between 2010 and 2020 in the United States. Walking and cycling shares dropped slightly in 2021 to 2.2 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively, as more Americans worked from home during this period. They have risen slightly since but have remained below 2020 levels.
