In 2023, developers and creators that were qualified and registered in Roblox's Developer Exchange Program earned 740 million U.S. dollars in annual payout, up from 623 million U.S. dollars in the preceding year. Roblox creators can earn the virtual currency Robux through their virtual gaming creations. These creations can, in turn, be converted into real-world currency. Monetizable content includes sales of access to Roblox experiences, item sales to users on the Avatar Marketplaces, and sales of content and tools between developers on the Studio Marketplace. Roblox also has an engagement-based rewards program that rewards creators based on the number of hours users spent in their experiences.
