Most of the new companies founded in Sweden within different industries had a higher share of male than female founders. Companies within the broad category of other services and personal services had the highest share of female founders, followed by health and social services. On the other hand, nearly 90 percent of the founders of companies within construction as well as trade with motor vehicles, and transport were men. In total, two thirds of the new entrepreneurs in Sweden were men in 2021.
