As of February 2024, the number of registered clinical studies related to cannabis in Latin America amounted to eight trials. By country, Mexico topped the list, recording three clinical studies involving cannabis. Jamaica and Brazil ranked second, with two medical studies each. Chile completed the list of registered clinical studies on cannabis in the region as of that date. In 2021, the Caribbean stood as the sub-region with the highest prevalence of cannabis use in Latin America.
