Monthly data traffic via fixed wireless access (FWA) was measured at over 30 exabytes in 2023, up from around 22 exabytes in 2022. Strong growth is expected over the coming years, with monthly FWA data traffic forecast to exceed almost 150 exabytes by the end of the decade. FWA involves the provision of broadband internet to fixed locations via mobile networks, and is posed by operators as a means of reaching internet users underserved by traditional fixed broadband infrastructure.
