Private household savings were highest in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia at around 52.7 billion euros, as of 2022. Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg followed. The majority of household disposal income is used or spent. The remaining part, in addition to growing net equity of households in pension funds, represents private household savings.
