In 2022, the electricity supply competition in the free energy market in Spain was mainly between Iberdrola, accounting for 34 percent of the electricity supply points of the country, and Endesa, with 28 percent. In contrast to the electricity supply in the regulated market, the liberalized market was more fragmented, leaving space to smaller electricity companies owning less than five percent of the market.
