Chile's ranking in the world declined as time went by, initially focusing on P2P exchanges as its main use for cryptocurrencies. The use of P2P is likely connected to remittances - or the sending of money back home from people working abroad. When the source started combining its separate surveys on centralized and decentralized behavior in 2022, Chile revealed itself to be more interested in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) than centralized services.
