From May 2013 to March 2024, there has been an overall decrease in the share of people in El Salvador that perceives crime as the main problem of the country. The highest was during November and December from 2015 with an 80.5 percent of people thinking it was the main issue. While during March 2024, only 3.3 percent of people mentioned crime as the principal difficulty the country faces.
