In 2020, the prevalence of 15 neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) reached approximately 19.3 thousand cases per 100,000 population in Latin America and the Caribbean, the lowest figure observed during the period analyzed. In comparison, the occurrence of these neglected tropical diseases amounted to around 31.5 thousand cases per 100,000 people in the region in 1990. The worldwide prevalence of NTDs worldwide reached 12.1 thousand cases per 100,000 people in 2020.
