In June 2022, over a third of PGA Tour fans in the United States knew nothing about LIV Golf being funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with a further 23 percent indicating that they knew little about it. In the following year, LIV Golf merged with the PGA Tour in a move that shocked much of the golfing world.
