Share of adults who could afford student loans U.S. 2022, by loan amount owed
According to a survey conducted in 2022, 36 percent of adults who owed 75,000 to 100,000 U.S. dollars said they could definitely not afford to make payments towards their student loans, the most out of all other student loan amounts surveyed. However, 33 percent of adults who owed 10,000 to 25,000 U.S. dollars also reported that they would not be able to afford to make these payments.
