The value of parallel imports in Russia was estimated at 70 billion U.S. dollars from mid-June 2022 to the end of 2023.
From March 2022, the Russian government legalized parallel imports in response to the Western sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine. In August of the same year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia extended the list of products allowed for parallel import, to include auto goods, radio-electronic products, photographic equipment, and cosmetic brands.

The figures are estimates. The 2023 figure was calculated by Statista based on the value of parallel imports of 70 billion U.S. dollars for 2022 and 2023, provided by the Government of Russia and cited by Vedomosti, and the 2022 figure of 20 billion U.S. dollars, provided by the Federal Customs of Russia.
Parallel imports, also known as gray imports, are goods that are produced with the consent of the right holder (i.e., they are not counterfeits) but are offered on the domestic market via third parties without the right holder's consent.
