According to a survey from 2022, the purchase decisions of 49 percent of the respondents in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore were impacted by what other consumers said on social media. Gen Z consumers were more influenced by what other consumers said on social media, at 57 percent, while only seven percent of baby boomers were impacted by it in 2022.
