During an online survey conducted in the United States in October 2022, approximately 44 percent of responding adults said they either disliked or hated "The Blair Witch Project" (1999). "The Ring" (2002) and "Rosemary's Baby" (1968) tied in second, each mentioned unfavorably by 31 percent of respondents. According to another study conducted around that same time, "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" were the favorite horror film franchises in the U.S.
