Subdivided by family income, it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of United States adults' personal importance of not wasting food. Most respondents said it was "very important" not to waste food regardless of their family income category. Six percent of adults who belong to families which earn more than 100 thousand U.S. dollars view not wasting food as "not at all important." This family income category contains the largest share of respondents for the "not at all important" response option.
