In 2022, China imported 59,424 pairs of snow skis into the country, representing a growth of more than 40 percent from the previous year. The value of the imports increased only slightly during the same period. Skiing is becoming an increasingly popular sport in China. While surveys suggested that the vast majority of skiers used rented ski equipment from ski resorts, the skiers who made purchases of ski gear usually preferred imported products, as they were seen as more advanced and of better quality.
