Mette Fredriksen of the Social Democrats, who has ruled Denmark since 2019, was the most popular Prime Minister candidate ahead of the Danish parliamentary election in November 2022. Nearly one fourth of the respondents would prefer Fredriksen as their Prime Minister. Lars Løkke Rasmussen of the Moderate Party was the second most popular candidate with 11 percent. He has previously led three governments in the country with the Liberal Party, but has since founded a new party. Moreover, 20 percent of the respondents did not know who they would prefer as their candidate. Initially, Mette Fredriksen and the Social Democrats won the largest share of votes in the election.
