The Northeastern state of Bahia was the federative unit with the largest unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2024, with 14 percent. Pernambuco and Amapá followed with 12.4 and 10.9 percent. In total, six states had an unemployment rate above ten percent in the first quarter of 2024. Furthermore, the Northeast of Brazil was the region with the lowest unemployment rate.
