From May 2023 to April 2024, pastry and baked goods accounted for over a third of the total sales of snack food on Alibaba's e-commerce platforms, JD.com, and Douyin in China. Roasted seeds or nuts followed, with an online market share of approximately 32 percent. In comparison, confectionery only took up about 10.5 percent of the market.
