Among subregions of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia, Eastern Europe had the most significant decline in real gross domestic product (GDP) in 2022, at nearly five percent. This subregion includes Belarus and Moldova. The GDP of countries in South Caucasus, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, grew by seven percent in the same year.

Central Europe includes Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, and Romania.
The Western Balkans include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Eastern Europe includes Belarus and Moldova. South Caucasus includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Central Asia includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
