As of the second quarter of 2024, HDBank, also known as Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank, recorded the highest return on equity (ROE) among major banks in Vietnam, reaching around 27 percent. By comparison, the National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) had an ROE of 12.4 percent in the same year, the lowest among the listed banks in the country.
