As of April 2022, quick food delivery drivers accounted for about 60 percent of all new platform workers added to South Korea's employment insurance system. Designated drivers accounted for about 36 percent.
Since 2020, the South Korean government has extended the employment insurance scheme to artists and special types of workers. As of 2022, other platform workers, such as delivery drivers and designated drivers, have also been able to join the employment insurance system.
