As of 2022, the average construction time worldwide for recent nuclear power plants with new designs was double the projected construction schedule. The latter was around 45 to 60 months, while the actual construction took or was estimated to take over 100 months. The only exception was the Hinkley Point C1 reactor in England, where the time gap between planned and effective construction time was of only six months.
