After an initial growth in the first three years of the reporting period, the number of direct, indirect, and linked industry employees in the beer industry in Italy showed some fluctuations during the last reporting years. In 2019, there were 144,000 employees in the brewing industry, while in 2020 the number had dropped to 115,000. In 2022, the number of employees in the industry grew to 124 thousand, before dropping to its lowest figure at 103,000 in 2023.
