The French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) defines work-study combination as a situation in which a person reports both being in initial training and having a job during a given week.
In 2020, younger people were most likely to be in this situation, particularly women between the ages of 19 and 23, and men between the ages of 18 and 22. In addition, at age 21, the proportion of women combining education and employment was six points higher than that of their male counterparts.
