In 2022 and 2023, approximately a third of UK adults felt they could be influenced to trust businesses about their sustainability commitments if they had transparent, accountable, as well as socially and environmentally responsible supply chains. In 2023, about a fifth of surveyed UK consumers said they would simply not know what information to trust, while nearly a quarter stated that nothing could convince them to trust brands more about their commitments to climate change.
