In 2021, 86 percent of Canadians believed that the fact that the population includes many people of different racial backgrounds makes Canada a better country. This proportion was higher among women, who were more than half (51 percent) to strongly agree, and 38 percent to agree. By contrast, 18 percent of male respondents disagreed.
