The consumer business sector maintained the highest gender diversity on U.S. corporate boards between 2014 and 2023, with women occupying over 30 percent of board seats by 2023. The life science and healthcare industry followed closely, where women held nearly 30 percent of board positions. The financial services sector lagged behind in fifth place, with women representing just under 27 percent of board directors in 2023.
