In 2021, oral contraceptive pills were the primary family planning method used by 18 percent of females using Title X family planning program, while 15 percent females reported using hormonal injections as the primary contraceptive method. The Title X Family Planning Program is a federal grant program which aims to provide comprehensive and confidential family planning services and preventive health services in the United States.

The Title X National Family Planning Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Population Affairs (OPA), is the only federal program dedicated solely to supporting the delivery of family planning and related preventive health care.
By law, Title X funds cannot be used by centers where abortion is a method of
family planning.In six states: Hawaii, Maine, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, there were no Title X-funded service sites in 2021.
